About > Your Stay > Meals

Alongside a range of exciting activities, we have always placed a value on the importance of a shared meal together.

A communal meal provides the opportunity to get to know each other and look forward to the excitement of the day or reflect on your adventures and achievements.

Our cooks are very accommodating and provide plenty of homemade food to keep your energy levels up. We can cater for all sorts of dietary requirements, just let our housekeeper know before you arrive.

...what the children think of the meals

Every day the duty instructor and members of the Priory staff join guests for breakfast and evening meals. The duty instructor along with the kitchen staff organise each meal to ensure everyone is catered for.

We like to provide a plentiful and nutritious breakfast. There is a choice of approximately 10 different breakfast cereals, followed by a cooked breakfast, toast, tea and coffee.

Most days of the week we provide a packed lunch, which helps to maximise activity time and allows us to be flexible with the programme or be out for the whole day if needed.

Guests make their own sandwiches before breakfast. We provide a wide range of fillings: cold meats, salads, cheese, jam, sandwich spreads etc. Each guest puts their sandwiches in a bag and they all get put in the fridge until lunchtime. A piece of home baking, packet of crisps, piece of fruit and drink of juice are also provided at lunchtime.

Most groups choose to have a 3 course Sunday lunch as a finale to their weekend visit. However, if a longer day is required then a packed lunch can just as easily be provided.

Evening Meal

A 3 course evening meal is provided with starter, main course and pudding. We aim to provide a family meal with a variety of vegetables and/or accompaniments to the main course to allow for particular taste.

Groups arriving for the weekend have a choice of a light meal or 3 course option on a Friday evening.

If a member of your group has a birthday during the course of their visit then please let our housekeeper know. We will be happy to bake a cake to help you celebrate the event.
