Fundraising

This page has details about The Friends of Marrick Priory and The Bursary Fund.  We are also fundraising for our new building project, information on the new building can be found here.

The Friends of Marrick Priory

The Friends of Marrick Priory generate interest and support for the work of the Priory and its staff, as well as supporting long term fund raising for major items of expenditure.

In order to support the work at Marrick Priory, the Friends:

  • Organise fun, social fundraising events throughout the year.
  • Offer practical help on Working Party Days with activities such as gardening and decorating.
  • Pray for the visitors to the Priory, its staff, trustees and committees.

These donations have been used to support a Bursary Fund, which allows children who would otherwise not have been able to visit the Priory, to come and enjoy the range of activities offered. Donations have also been used to purchase such things as waterproofs, a kayak trailer, a pool table, and picnic tables.

Further information about Marrick Priory or the Friends and their activities may be obtained by contacting the Priory.

The Bursary Fund

The Priory is a Charitable Trust and is based on non-profit making principles.  We seek to make our fees for visiting groups as reasonable as possible to cover the running costs of the organisation.  We believe that every individual should have the opportunity to benefit from a visit to the Priory and we have a Bursary fund to assist individuals who face financial disadvantage.  The bursary fund is supported by charitable giving and the fundraising work of the Friends of Marrick Priory.  If you would like to make a donation to the Bursary Fund please visit out Donations page.

Governance

Marrick Priory is run by the Head of Centre and a board of dedicated and active trustees. The Diocese appoints half of the trustees, with the other half being made up of locally recruited representatives.
