Marrick Priory is a historic 12th century building that has been developed into an Outdoor Education and Residential Centre. It is situated in Swaledale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park with great outdoor adventure activities.
A full day typically includes three outdoor activity sessions; a 3-hr morning session, a 3-hr afternoon session and a 1.5-hr evening session. Some sessions can be shortened or extended depending on your groups needs and programme.
Our cooks are very accommodating and provide plenty of homemade food to keep your energy levels up. Breakfasts and evening meals are three courses. Each day you can also make your own pack lunch from a varied selection that we provide.
We like guests to treat the Priory as if it were their own home. You will have sole use of the building. Sleeping accommodation for 50+ people, a large dining room, drying room, chapel and two common rooms.
We welcome a huge variety of school groups, adult groups and youth projects of all ages, backgrounds and cultures. We simply ask that all groups respect the Christian faith and traditions that lie at the heart of the Priory and its 850 year old history.
Marrick Priory is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA). We comply with nationally accepted standards of good practice in the delivery of adventure activities, with due regard to the benefits and risks of the activity.
Marrick Priory is run by the Head of Centre and a board of dedicated trustees. There is a close affiliation with the Church of England through the Diocese of Leeds, who have been instrumental in supporting and developing the centre since the 1960.
